As we anxiously await this year’s tree arrival, we can look forward to the annual tree lighting ceremony that takes over West 49th and 50th streets and Fifth and Sixth avenues with tens of thousands of multi-colored lights.
If you’re wondering about all the details of this year’s tree lighting, visits, etc., we’ve got (almost) all your questions answered, here!

This year’s tree lighting will take place on Wednesday, November 29th.
How can I watch it?

Will there be any special performances?
Last year, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton performed a duet of their holiday single, “You Make It Feel Like Christmas.” This year’s performances have yet to be announced.

We can only hope Fifth Avenue between 48th Street & 57th Street will shut down all car traffic again for “Fifth Avenue for All” like it did last year, but no announcements have been made.

On Christmas Day, Dec. 25, the lights on the tree will shine for a full 24 hours. On New Year’s Eve, you can visit the tree anytime from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.
